Flight Trining in Honduras
Sean had the opportunity to work with the staff pilots in Honduras in January to do annual flight checks and to get the pilots checked out in the right seat. Most of us don’t consider the idea of driving from either the left or right seats of our cars. Our airplanes have flight controls (including pedals) for both seats. Our staff pilots are also flight instructors and can fly from either seat. Getting them checked out in the right seat will allow them to do check flights as needed without the necessity of Sean traveling down to Honduras. There are times when both pilots are flying and it’s a backup option for either pilot to fly from either seat if the need arises.
VBS in Honduras
Our theme this year was lions and lambs. The team visited Suhi and Mabita along with being in Rus Rus. They did 2 days in each village. They shared the story of Daniel in the lions’ den and the Good Shepherd leading us, His lambs, as he died and rose again for our salvation and restoration. Some of the fun crafts for the kids were decorating lion and lamb masks. One of our volunteers gifted at painting gave the kids a special treat of face art. They enjoyed looking at themselves as different animals.
Sean brought two short term missions teammates with him, his son Nathan and Kate from Blacknall Presbyterian Church. Kate is a senior in high school and was a blessing to the team in many ways. Nathan & Kate were helpful in preparing for VBS for all 3 villages we visited as well as helping lead worship, participating in skits, and leading game time. We are praying that an opportunity to take more high schoolers from Blacknall back to Rus Rus in the summer of 2023. Overall, short term trips are off and running again. One of Carmen’s roles is to coordinate them. If your family or congregation is interested in personally being a part of the ministry MAG does in Honduras let us know!

Upcoming Medical Brigade
MAG is excited to host another large medical brigade in Rus Rus the last week of February. It will be a blend of US and Honduran doctors and nurses. We will be supplying some air support for a partnering organization (IHS) that will do medical work in other remote villages in Eastern Honduras. These are great opportunities to bring physical and spiritual healing to the Honduran Miskito people.
Hospital Porch Addition
There have been many building upgrades in Rus Rus in the last 12 months. One of the improvements is a front porch covering for the hospital. This will allow more people to wait to be seen and keep out of the rain and intense sun. The new covered space has also turned into a community meeting location. Another helpful addition is the hangar extension which will allow us to host other mission’s aircraft. MAG staff are using it for ground vehicles when not needed for aircraft.
We are thankful for all of your prayers and support, your partnership in the Gospel is such a gift!
In Christ’s Love,
Sean and Carmen Garrigan
